His Secret Family ****SLIGHT SPOILERS/TRIGGER WARNING****

His Secret Family by Ali Mercer was published by Bookouture on 09/11/19.  I received a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. Before we get started, trigger warnings.  If you are sensitive to how children with autism are treated, this is probably a book you want to avoid.  In addition, there is an infant death in the story.  Had I known that, I would not have volunteered for this book.  As someone who blogs about recommendations for future reads, I feel like it's my duty to bring that up.  I would want someone to warn me.  That being said, on to the review. This story focuses on 2 mothers, 3 daughters, and a man that is somehow connected to them all.  Mark and Paula, once "happily married" are now angrily divorced, somehow related to their daughter Daisy.  T his divorce comes back to haunt him when he marries Jenny and attempts to be a father to her daughters Evie and Ava.  All of the dirty laundry and secrets come to life through the viewpoin

Ellie and the Harpmaker - Late review!

Okay listen-I've been terrible about updating lately.  I was lucky enough to get what is basically my current dream job.  The hours are long.  The work is HARD.  The effort is so worth it.  As a result, I've fallen a bit behind on my book reviews....and by a bit, I mean I have like 7-10 books waiting on me.  Please bear with me.  I'll get caught up eventually! 😓 Today's review is for Hazel Prior's Ellie and the Harpmaker.  I was lucky enough to get this book through NetGalley, all thanks to the lovely people at Berkley Publishing Group.  Ellie and the Harpmaker was released on August 6, 2019. Ellie is a lonely housewife, strolling along the woods in Exmoor when she stumbles across a barn owned by a man named Dan.  Dan is a harp maker. Because she looks so sad, Dan gives her a harp.  This is how a very unique friendship begins between the two of them.  It may even blossom into true love.  This story was interesting enough.  Hearing Dan's viewpoints
