The Other People by C.J. Tudor was published by Random House - Ballantine on January 28, 2020.  I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Driving home from work one night, Gabe sees his daughter mouth "Daddy" in the back of a beat up car.  She's never seen again.  He spends the next three years going up and down that highway, in search of the daughter he lost.  When the car is found at the bottom of a pond with a grown man inside, Gabe amps up his search.  That search leads him to The Other People. If you have lost a loved one, The Other People   want to help. Because they know what loss is like. They know what pain is like. They know what death is like. This was my first book by Tudor, despite owning everything else she has written.  It did not disappoint.  I really enjoyed this one and totally loved the ending.  It would have been a 5 star read for me, but I guess this was supposed to be a paran...

The Holdout, written by Graham Moore is scheduled for release on February 18, 2020 by Random House Publishing Group.  I was given an advance copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.  I also chose this as one of my February Book of the Month selections. Synopsis (From Goodreads):   Juror Maya Seale is convinced that African American high school teacher Bobby Nock is innocent of killing the wealthy white female student with whom he appears to have been involved and persuades her fellow jurors likewise. Ten years later, a true-crime docuseries reassembles the jurors, and Maya, now a defense attorney, must prove her own innocence when one of them is found dead in Maya's room. I was given a copy of That's What Frenemies are For by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.  The book was published by Random House on July 30, 2019, written by Sophie Littlefield and Lauren Gershell. Short plot synopsis-Julia tries to have it all and rule her rich mom circle by finding the "next big thing," which just happens to be the fitness center called Flame.  This leads to her trying to do a Mean Girls makeover on Tatum, a young and dumb instructor.  Naturally, the plan backfires. Look.  The book isn't terrible...but it isn't the best thing ever written.  The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking that this plot has been done before, and better at that.  In a world where Mean Girls AND Heathers exist, this book isn't really anything special.  Julia is a rich snob.  She has everything, but she's still so miserable.  OMG, CRY ME A RIVER.  When it came to Tatum, I knew exactly what type of girl she would end up...
