Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver

“If not a friend, why friend shaped?” My bestie chat and I say this all the time to each other about wild animals, and don’t think for one second one of us wouldn’t try to pet a bear if given the opportunity.

I didn’t think it was possible to love Wild Eyes as much as I loved Wild Love, but here we are. I loved everything about this book, but my heart 100% belongs to Emmie and Oliver. They are two of the cutest kids that I think have ever been written. Emmie is such a firecracker, and Oliver has such a sweet soul. I need 74 more books in this series, if only to read more about those two.

I loved the chemistry between Skyler and West. I hated what Skyler had to go through to get to West, but I’m glad it wasn’t all just glossed over. We felt her pain as much as she did. The friendships between the characters were also fantastically well done. I loved seeing Rosie and Ford come back and interact with the story.

Again, I have no bad things to say about this book other than I’m devastated I’ll never read it again for the first time.

Is One Truly the Loneliest Number?

I was given a digital copy of One? by Jennifer L. Cahill.  She reached out to me through Twitter, and she was so sweet.  I couldn't wait to dive into her book.💙 The Plot (From Goodreads): It's London in the mid-noughties before Facebook, iPhones and ubiquitous wifi. Zara has just moved to London for her first real job and struggles to find her feet in a big city with no instruction manual. Penelope works night and day in an investment bank with little or no time for love. At twenty-eight she is positively ancient as far as her mother is concerned and the pressure is on for her to settle down as the big 3-0 is looming. Charlie spends night and day with his band who are constantly teetering on the verge of greatness. Richard has relocated to London from his castle in Scotland in search of the one, and Alyx is barely in one place long enough to hold down a relationship let alone think about the future. One? follows the highs and lows of a group of twenty-somethings living ...

First Post-Here We Go!

This is still a little insane to me.  Last week I wasn't even thinking a Bookstagram would be possible for me, let alone a blog!  What if I'm not interesting?  What if my reviews are terrible?  What if I actually have BAD taste in books? I guess we're going to find out.  Follow me.  Be patient with me.  Grow with me.  Let's explore as many amazing stories, wonderful authors, and unforgettable books as we can! 💙

The Lonely Hearts Crime Club

I obtained a copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley.  The Lonely Hearts Crime Club is scheduled to be released April 16th, 2019 by Blackbird Digital Books. Synopsis (from Goodreads): An elderly resident of an inner-city tower block is brutally attacked and left for dead. Her neighbours, a pregnant alcoholic, a vulnerable youth, a failed actress and a cameraman with a dark secret, are thrown together in their search for answers. Misfits and loners, they are forced to confront uncomfortable realities about themselves and each other, as their investigation leads them towards the shocking finale.   The cast of characters for this book were very interesting in the fact that all of them are severely flawed.  When combined they formed a group of misfits similar to those of The Breakfast Club or The Sandlot.  Each person brought something different to the "team."  The main characters are listed below Ella-pregnant, 3rd trimester, recovering alcoholic, on h...
