Heavy sigh. I finished this book about a week ago and have been so torn on writing this review because I’m still not sure how I feel about this book. Did I love the campy nature of the writing? Yes. Did I love another book about magical boarding schools? Obviously. Did I enjoy the stupid boys who repeatedly forced themselves on the girls. Not a chance. Did I feel like this was 200 pages too long? You betcha.
Also, while I understand Darcy and Tory are twins, it felt like they had zero differentiating personality traits. If the chapters didn’t have their names at the top, I never would have been able to tell them apart.
Regarding the 4 boy heirs that kept trying to “flirt” with them, I could not have been more disgusted. Maybe that’s because men are the literal worst right now. Maybe it’s because I’m too old to think these types of relationships are cute. It very much felt like “he picks on you because he likes you,” which, absolutely freaking not.
I only really want to continue this series because I like magical boarding schools. To me, I don’t feel like the book has any other redeeming qualities.
